Space-A and Pet Travel: What AMC Allows and What Not to Assume

Pet travel is one of the easiest places to make a costly assumption. AMC's current pet program is built around authorized PCS movement on Patriot Express—not ordinary leisure Space-A pet travel.

Current AMC pet movement is PCS-focused

AMC currently states that pet movement is limited to passengers in PCS status and that dogs and cats are booked through the traveler's Traffic Management Office or Installation Transportation Office.

Pet space is limited and booked separately. A Space-A traveler should not assume that an empty passenger seat means a pet can travel on the same mission.

Service animals follow different rules

AMC publishes separate service-animal documentation guidance. If your trip involves a service animal, use the current AMC pet page and operating terminal instructions rather than ordinary pet rules.

Build a pet-safe commercial fallback

If a pet is essential to the trip, compare commercial airline animal policies, heat restrictions, kennel requirements and destination-entry rules before committing to a military-travel strategy.
