OFFICIAL
Primary government, military, installation, terminal, public-health, or other authoritative source. This class controls operational facts when available.
Trust & methodology
MilVoyage covers information that can change quickly and materially affect a trip. Source identity, observation time, freshness, and evidence class are therefore part of the fact—not optional footnotes.
OFFICIAL
Primary government, military, installation, terminal, public-health, or other authoritative source. This class controls operational facts when available.
VERIFIED
A claim independently checked against a sufficiently authoritative source or corroborating evidence, with source and freshness retained.
COMMUNITY
Structured first-party traveler input submitted to MilVoyage. Useful for experience and outcomes, but never silently promoted to an official fact.
ANECDOTAL
External or individual experience that may identify a lead or emerging issue. It requires verification before being used as operational guidance.
HISTORICAL
Past observations retained for context and statistical analysis. Historical frequency is not a promise of future service.
PREDICTED
A model or rules-based inference. Predictions must include uncertainty/data-quality context and remain separate from confirmed observations.
For operational rules, schedules, terminal procedures, eligibility, government advisories, and entry requirements, MilVoyage prefers the issuing authority or another primary source. Commercial providers are authoritative for their own current offer terms, not for unrelated military policy. Community and social posts can identify a problem worth investigating but do not override an authoritative source.
Changing information should retain when it was observed or verified. If an automated source cannot be reached, MilVoyage should say that rather than silently displaying an old value as current. A published route is not a confirmed mission; a historical route is not a future schedule; a posted seat count can change.
Material factual errors should be corrected promptly. When a source changes, MilVoyage should preserve the prior observation for audit/history while making the new controlling information clear to readers. Corrections should not erase evidence needed to understand what changed.
Future MilVoyage Field Reports will collect structured traveler outcomes such as terminal, attempted route, date, declared category, party size, seats observed, selection outcome, delays, and practical terminal experience. Reports will be labeled community-reported, moderated for abuse/privacy, and aggregated with sample sizes before being used for statistics.
Advertising, sponsorship, affiliate commission, or a strategic relationship cannot change an operational fact, eligibility rule, safety warning, historical observation, or objective route score. Sponsored or affiliate placements must be disclosed.
External communities can reveal traveler pain points, terminology, feature requests, and leads. MilVoyage does not treat an external post as an official fact and should not ingest or republish third-party community content into a commercial product without the permissions required by that platform and applicable law.
