Space-A Roll Call: What It Means and When You Need to Be There

Roll call is the point when the terminal begins selecting eligible Space-A travelers for available seats. It is one of the most important times on a Space-A travel day—and it is not interchangeable with departure time.

Mark present before the terminal's deadline

AMC tells travelers to check in at the terminal counter, mark themselves present and review updated flight information. Individual terminals can publish their own mark-present windows and roll-call procedures, so the terminal page controls the practical deadline.

Selection uses category and signup seniority

Space-A travelers compete within the authorized category system. Within a category, the signup date and time can matter, which is why preserving proof of signup is important when an automated confirmation fails.

Do not infer departure from roll call

Some terminals publish a standard relationship between roll call and departure, while others publish a specific roll call for each mission. MilVoyage only shows a departure when the source explicitly publishes one.

Quick answers

Common questions

Is roll call the departure time?

No. Roll call is the passenger-selection event. Departure can be later and should be treated as a separate published field.

Can I arrive after roll call?

Do not plan on it. Follow the operating terminal's current mark-present and roll-call instructions and arrive with enough time to be travel ready.

What should I have ready?

Bring the required travel documents and baggage, complete parking or rental-car tasks, and be ready to move if selected.
