Privacy

Collect less. Explain why.

MilVoyage is designed to provide useful personalization and planning without requiring unnecessary personal data. This notice describes the current product behavior.

Local personalization

The current News For You and topic-focus features can store preferences in your browser, such as a user-declared Space-A category, preferred terminal, topic interests, and destination terms. These local preferences do not require an account and are not proof of military status.

First-party product analytics

MilVoyage records basic product-usage events so we can understand which pages and features are useful. The event stream can include a randomly generated browser identifier stored locally, the MilVoyage product being used, page path, event type, timestamp, referring hostname, and limited interaction details such as whether a link was internal or external. The analytics event stream does not intentionally capture names, email addresses, form text, precise location, military records, or the contents of a trip profile.

Server and hosting data

Like most websites, hosting and security infrastructure may process technical request information such as IP address, user agent, request path, timing, and error logs for delivery, reliability, security, and abuse prevention. This infrastructure logging is separate from MilVoyage's first-party product analytics event table.

Forms and inquiries

If you intentionally submit a partner inquiry, MilVoyage stores the contact information and message you provide so the inquiry can be reviewed and answered. A configured notification workflow may also receive a copy so the inquiry can be surfaced promptly. Do not submit sensitive military, medical, classified, controlled, or authentication information.

Community reports

Structured traveler Field Reports are planned but are not yet a public production intake. Before launch, the form will explain what is collected, moderation/retention rules, public-display choices, and how aggregate statistics are produced. MilVoyage will not ask users to publish personally identifying military documentation.

Accounts and verification

Accounts are optional future functionality. Military/veteran verification, if introduced, will be a separate capability with additional security and privacy review rather than a requirement for basic news or trip planning.

Advertising and measurement

Advertising, affiliate measurement, and experimentation may be added as MilVoyage grows. The privacy notice and consent controls will be updated before optional tracking that requires consent is enabled.

Sale or transfer

If MilVoyage or substantially all relevant assets are sold, licensed, merged, or transferred, data associated with the product may transfer subject to applicable law, contractual restrictions, and the privacy commitments in force at that time.
